Ministry curricula and student activities promote dialogue, tolerance and coexistence

The Ministry of Education, through its curricula — particularly citizenship education — and various student activities, aims to promote a culture of peace, tolerance and dialogue.

Its efforts also emphasise respect for diversity, human dignity and international solidarity, contributing to the building of safe and sustainable societies in line with national goals and ongoing initiatives in this field.

This was emphasised by Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education.

He noted that the UN General Assembly’s adoption of an International Day of Peaceful Coexistence is a significant global achievement reflecting the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote coexistence and tolerance as noble human values.

Initiatives

He noted that the theme, “Commitment to Peaceful Coexistence and a Safe, Inclusive World,” highlights Bahrain’s leading royal initiatives both regionally and internationally, positioning the Kingdom as a model of tolerance, coexistence, openness, and religious freedom.

The Minister also commended the efforts of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance in providing educational, academic, and awareness programs that empower youth and communities, in cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions locally and globally, to foster tolerance and respect for cultural and religious diversity.
