The Ministry of Interior announced that the National Ambulance Centre recorded 60,635 reports of various medical emergencies during 2025.
Ambulance crews provided first aid and primary healthcare services through ambulance vehicles deployed at centres across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in addition to the motorcycle first-responder ambulance service.
This comes one year after the launch of this advanced service, which has contributed to faster access to emergency cases and more efficient patient preparation compared with traditional ambulances, particularly in narrow streets and during traffic congestion.
The National Ambulance Centre explained that the incidents handled were classified across a range of cases, including resuscitation, traffic accidents, fires, childbirth, as well as other medical conditions.
This reflects the advanced level achieved by the centre in managing emergency medical calls and underscores the International Accreditation of Excellence it has received for the Medical Priority Dispatch System (ProQA) from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED), in recognition of its high quality and efficiency in handling and accurately classifying medical cases in line with approved standards.
The centre noted that these statistical indicators reflect the ongoing strategic development plan adopted year after year within the Government Action Programme, under close follow-up by the Ministry of Interior and in coordination with relevant health authorities, with the aim of enhancing ambulance and primary healthcare services as a core component of Bahrain’s comprehensive healthcare system.
The National Ambulance Centre further stated that 2025 witnessed geographic expansion of ambulance centres and response points across all governorates, helping to cover a wider segment of society and handle a greater number of emergency medical reports with high efficiency and quality, while ensuring safe and rapid response in accordance with internationally approved medical standards and protocols, and in coordination with emergency departments at government hospitals and relevant security agencies.
As part of its community partnership, the National Ambulance Centre also contributed to securing and supporting various national events and activities through broad participation, embodying its national mission and raising awareness of its vital role, continuous efforts, and services provided to the community, thereby strengthening the concept of partnership and social responsibility
