Bahrain Boosts Swimming Pool and Beach Safety Standards
Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi said the Ministry of Tourism is keen to expand cooperation with the Royal Life Saving Bahrain to strengthen safety standards at swimming pools and beaches in tourism facilities across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Sheikha Naila bint Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chairperson of Royal Life Saving Bahrain. The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation, particularly in auditing and inspecting tourism facilities to ensure full compliance with approved safety requirements for the safe operation of swimming pools.
Al Sairafi stressed that the safety of visitors and guests is a top priority for the tourism sector. She expressed hope that the partnership would help reinforce Bahrain’s position as a safe and attractive tourist destination, noting that marine activities are a key pillar of the country’s tourism strategy.
For her part, Sheikha Naila praised the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and highlighted the importance of working with all relevant entities to promote water safety awareness. She said this cooperation would help educate beachgoers and pool users at tourism facilities and ensure the highest standards of public safety.
