BACA celebrates Bahraini theatre movement success

Marking the 100th anniversary of the launch of the theatrical movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) organised a commemorative celebration at Al Hidaya Al Khalifia School, attended by His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the BACA, and Suha Saleh Jassim Hamada, Director General of School Affairs at the Ministry of Education.
H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, said that Al Hidaya Al Khalifia School, which hosted the first launch of formal government education in Bahrain, also marked the beginning of Bahraini theatre, underscoring the historic significance of this distinguished educational institution.
The Education Minister noted that Bahraini theatre began as a school-based movement, and that school theatre continues to serve as a source for the national theatre scene.
