Bahrain–Kazakhstan Ties Highlighted as King Hamad Global Center Chairman Honoured

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, was awarded the Honorary Medal of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions by His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 The honour was conveyed during a meeting in Manama in which Dr. Shaikh Abdulla received Madiyar Menilbekov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, resident in Riyadh. The ambassador presented the medal on behalf of President Tokayev in recognition of the Chairman’s contributions to promoting peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding among religions, cultures, and civilizations.

 Dr. Shaikh Abdulla expressed Bahrain’s pride in its strong relations with Kazakhstan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted the steady development of bilateral ties across multiple sectors, particularly in humanitarian and cultural cooperation, and reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing dialogue among civilizations.

 He also conveyed his appreciation for the honour, describing it as an acknowledgment of Bahrain’s efforts and the pioneering academic and cultural initiatives of the King Hamad Global Center in fostering tolerance and peaceful coexistence. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla praised President Tokayev’s initiative in convening the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, calling it a significant international platform for promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue.

 For his part, Ambassador Menilbekov commended Bahrain’s leading role in advancing dialogue and tolerance, highlighting the international standing of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance and its contributions to strengthening religious and cultural pluralism, coexistence, and human fraternity worldwide.
