Asian gang accused of stealing cables from construction sites

Investigations uncovered an organised gang made up of Asian nationals involved in a series of thefts targeting electrical cables and wires.
The head of the Northern Governorate Prosecution said the Public Prosecution had received a report detailing the findings from the Criminal Investigation Department.
The group allegedly stole the materials from electrical substations and houses under construction across the Northern Governorate, then sold the stolen items to scrap metal dealers at prices below market value, fully aware that the goods were obtained through criminal activity.
The proceeds were received in cash and subsequently transferred outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
