The future of Bahraini badminton looks brighter than ever following the successful conclusion of the BWF Level 1 Coaches Certification Course. Held from December 7th to 11th at the "Sanad Home of Badminton," the intensive program resulted in 15 local coaches receiving official accreditation from the Badminton World Federation (BWF). This initiative, organized by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF) under the auspices of Badminton Asia, marks a strategic move to standardize coaching excellence and professionalize the sport within the Kingdom.

The five-day program was spearheaded by two of the region’s most prominent experts, National Coach and BWF Level 1 Tutor Mr. Ahamad, and BWF Level 1 Coach and Tutor Mr. CM Junith. The curriculum was designed to be as rigorous as it was comprehensive, blending advanced technical theory with high-intensity on-court practicals. Participants were trained in the essential pillars of modern coaching, including player development, tactical strategy, and the application of sports science.

In a testament to the quality of both the instruction and the candidates, the federation celebrated a perfect pass rate, with all 15 participants achieving certification. Mr. Ahamad noted that the group's dedication to learning the nuances of the game was evident from the very first day. Mr. CM Junith emphasized the long-term vision of the program, noting that these graduates are now the front runners for the sport's domestic growth and will provide the foundation for future champions through their work at the grassroots level.

By expanding its roster of internationally recognized professionals, the BBSF is laying the groundwork for Bahrain to become a competitive force on the global stage. These 15 newly minted coaches will now return to various clubs and schools across the country, tasked with identifying and nurturing the next generation of Bahraini shuttlers.
