Bahraini Talent Exhibits Eco-Friendly Misting System Artwork Abroad
Bahraini artist Buthaina Ghanem Shaheen, from the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, recently participated in an art exhibition at the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy in the United Arab Emirates, titled “Art Between Man and Machine.”
At the exhibition, Shaheen displayed an artwork highlighting the water misting system for walkways and parks, introduced by the Southern Governorate Municipality in 2022. This system, the first of its kind in Bahrain, was installed on the Isa Town rubberized walkway to provide pedestrians with a refreshing environment using environmentally friendly water mist. It is considered a pioneering initiative for public spaces in Bahrain, especially in sports and recreational areas, helping adapt outdoor environments to the country’s hot climate.
In addition to this innovative project, Shaheen has created many notable works, including portraits of HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, his sons, and Her Royal Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
