Public Prosecution to Review Findings of October Maritime Incident

The Ministry of Interior has completed its investigation into a maritime incident that occurred on October 20, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding the case.

According to the ministry, the investigation found that a boat was engaged in night fishing during the shrimp fishing ban, in violation of the law. When a Coast Guard patrol approached the vessel, it was observed that the boat had intentionally switched off its navigation lights and disabled its GPS system. The vessel also failed to comply with orders to stop.

As the Coast Guard patrol moved closer, a collision occurred between the two boats. The offending vessel then attempted to flee at high speed but was later intercepted and stopped by the patrol.

Based on the findings of the investigation committee, the Ministry of Interior has referred the case to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures.
