Bahrain National Days Come Alive Through Poetry and Culture
As Bahrain marks its National Days and the 26th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne, the Capital Governorate joined nationwide celebrations with a special patriotic poetry evening titled “Long Live Our King.”
The event, organized by the Bahrain Popular Poetry Association in collaboration with the Capital Governorate, drew a large audience and featured leading poets from across the GCC.
The evening showcased a series of patriotic poems expressing deep loyalty and pride in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Poets also reflected the shared appreciation felt by the people of Bahrain and the Gulf for the Kingdom’s ongoing development and progress.
Capital Governor Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa emphasized the governorate’s commitment to celebrating national occasions by organizing diverse events that strengthen national identity and highlight Bahrain’s rich cultural heritage. He praised the strong partnership with the Bahrain Popular Poetry Association and its role in preserving traditional cultural expression.
He added that cultural events such as poetry evenings play a key role in conveying national messages creatively, enriching the cultural landscape, and fostering a sense of belonging among the community.
Shaikh Khalid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Popular Poetry Association, said the poetry night reflected the deep significance of national celebrations in the hearts of Bahrainis. He noted that Bahrain’s National Days reaffirm the people’s strong bond with His Majesty the King and highlight the stability and prosperity the Kingdom continues to enjoy.
He affirmed that the Association, in cooperation with the Capital Governorate, will continue promoting Bahraini identity and supporting the presence of traditional poetry in national and cultural events. He extended his gratitude to the governor, supporting entities, and organizing committees for contributing to the success of the event.
The evening featured several renowned poets from the GCC, including Saeed bin Mani Al-Qahtani from Saudi Arabia, Saad Barak Al-Azmi from Kuwait, Ubail bin Qathlan Al-Mazrouei from the UAE, along with Bahraini poet Abdullah Al-Khaldi.
