His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, witnessed the thrilling Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) contests held on Saturday at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, as part of the 3rd Asian Youth Games hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31, under the gracious patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The competition saw Bahrain’s MMA athletes deliver spectacular performances, securing three gold medals for the Kingdom. Eldar Eldarov claimed gold in the 60 kg category, Abdulhakim Babaev triumphed in the 63 kg category, and Ibrahim Khalidov clinched gold in the 70 kg category, marking an outstanding day for Team Bahrain.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid’s presence added an inspiring boost to the national team, as he personally congratulated the champions and commended their exceptional skill and determination.
“We are immensely proud of our MMA heroes for their remarkable achievements in this continental championship,” His Highness said. “Winning three gold medals is a testament to Bahrain’s steady progress in developing world-class athletes capable of excelling on international stages. We will continue to support them as they raise the Kingdom’s flag high and bring honor to our nation.”
The victories highlight Bahrain’s growing prominence in combat sports and reaffirm the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing young talent under its visionary leadership.
