HH Shaikh Nasser Honored with FEI Gold Badge of Honour
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, has been awarded the FEI Gold Badge of Honour by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
The prestigious accolade recognizes His Highness’s illustrious record of achievements since his debut at the World Endurance Championship in Germany in 2006, as well as his exceptional contributions to the advancement of equestrian sports on both regional and global stages.
The honor was presented to HH Shaikh Nasser during an official ceremony attended by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Mr. Ingmar De Vos, President of the International Equestrian Federation.
Also present were HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for the Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF, Mr. Sultan Mohammed Al Yahyai, President of the FEI Regional Group VII, and Mr. Fares Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The FEI Gold Badge of Honour is conferred in accordance with Article 132.2 of the FEI General Regulations, which stipulates recognition for outstanding international participation and cumulative achievements by equestrian leaders and riders worldwide.
HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the International Equestrian Federation for the honor, emphasizing that it reflects the prominent international standing of Bahraini equestrian sports, made possible through the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and the continuous encouragement of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that this milestone underscores Bahrain’s growing influence in the global equestrian arena — a journey that began with his first appearance in 2006 and has since seen Bahraini riders achieve historic victories on international podiums.
Mr. Ingmar De Vos praised HH Shaikh Nasser’s visionary leadership and his pivotal role in elevating endurance racing standards, describing Bahrain as a regional model in the sport and an inspiration for the Arab world.
