Northern Governor Lauds Tourist Guides' Role in Promoting Bahrain’s National Heritage

The Northern Governorate hosted a celebratory event for Bahrain Tourist Guide Day, where H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdullah Al Madani, Governor of the Northern Governorate, emphasized the crucial role tour guides play in fostering national belonging and preserving the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage.
 
The event, which was held at the exhibition of visual artist Abbas Al-Mousawi, saw attendance from Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Vatel University College, several cultural and artistic figures, and a participating delegation from the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
In his address, Governor Al Madani stressed the importance of the sector in promoting national pride and citizenship. He noted that the work of tour guides is essential for highlighting Bahrain's heritage and historical landmarks, ultimately showcasing the Kingdom's extensive cultural and civilizational assets to the world.
 
He also extended his high praise to the Friends of Dilmun Tour Guides team for their dedication in organizing such events and their commitment to supporting national competencies working within this vital tourism sector.
 
Mr. Mirza Al Nasheet, Chairman of the Friends of Dilmun team and Regional Representative of the Arab Federation of Tourist Guides, underscored the pioneering nature of the celebration. He explained that Tourist Guide Day, first launched in 2016, is the first of its kind in the Arab world.
 
Mr. Al Nasheet affirmed the value of the profession, stating that tour guides represent the true face of the country. Their efforts provide visitors with an authentic experience that not only reflects the national heritage but also actively enhances the sustainable economy and reinforces the distinct Bahraini tourism identity.
 
The ceremony concluded with an honoring segment, recognizing the contributions of several Bahraini and Saudi tour guides, tourism offices, members of the press and media, and participating civil society organizations.
