Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, reviewed construction progress in the first phase of the Muharraq City Development Project, and noted that works are advancing steadily in coordination with the participating government entities.

This came as the ministry held a joint meeting to evaluate the first phase of the Muharraq City Development Project in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to preserve Bahrain’s historical and cultural identity.

The meeting, attended by the Housing Minister, H.E. Saleh bin Hindi Al Mannai, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Youth and Sports Affairs; and H.E. Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, Governor of Muharraq, focused on tracking the implementation of the development plan and the restoration of Isa Al Kabeer Palace.

Al Rumaihi emphasised that the project remains among the government’s top priorities, reflecting the royal vision to safeguard Muharraq’s heritage while supporting sustainable urban development. She noted that all stakeholders are working as one team to meet project timelines and deliver outcomes consistent with the Kingdom’s architectural and cultural identity.

The Muharraq Governor commended the efforts of the ministry and the relevant entities in implementing the royal directives, emphasising that the ongoing projects embody teamwork, coordination, and a commitment to preserving Muharraq’s unique character while enhancing its modern infrastructure.

He expressed appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his continuous support and follow up of the governorate’s development initiatives, which contribute to Bahrain’s comprehensive and sustainable growth.
