Bahrain Space Agency CEO joins Golden Dome AI and Data forum.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency, participated in the discussion forum “Golden Dome: Data and Artificial Intelligence”, organized by Space News magazine in partnership with leading U.S. tech companies. The event explored the use of advanced technologies to enhance space security in the face of emerging challenges.

Speaking on the main theme of the forum, Dr. Al-Asiri explained that the symposium focused on the U.S. Department of Defense’s Golden Dome initiative. The project aims to build an intelligent space defense system that integrates massive satellite and sensor data across global networks with predictive artificial intelligence, capable of identifying potential threats and making real-time autonomous decisions. The initiative also leverages advanced data processing technologies to ensure rapid response and operational resilience in isolated environments.

Dr. Al-Asiri emphasized the importance of international tech alliances, stating, “Major initiatives like Golden Dome represent a qualitative leap in protecting strategic interests in space. The Kingdom of Bahrain is keeping pace with these developments, focusing on applying such technologies in peaceful initiatives that support the government’s efforts to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals while ensuring full compliance with international standards.”

He added that the Agency’s participation in such forums reflects its commitment to staying abreast of the latest technological and strategic developments, providing a clear vision for the future in a sector marked by rapid evolution.

Experts at the symposium highlighted key future transformations in space defense, particularly the shift towards fully autonomous systems by 2030 through artificial intelligence, which will play a critical role in countering cyberattacks on space infrastructure.

The participants also agreed on the need to develop international legislative frameworks to regulate the use of emerging technologies, ensuring benefits for all stakeholders.
