Newly appointed Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO), Arguj Kalantarli, has praised Bahrain’s commitment to humanitarian work and international cooperation in civil defence during a meeting at the organisation’s Geneva headquarters.
Kalantarli welcomed Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, and commended the kingdom’s initiatives that enhance its ability to face disasters and protect lives and property.
Mutual Pledges
He noted Bahrain’s active role in supporting risk reduction measures and its contribution to building stronger systems of protection at both national and international levels.
Ambassador Abdulla congratulated Kalantarli on his appointment and underlined Bahrain’s commitment to maintain and expand cooperation with the ICDO.
Strengthening Resilience
The ambassador highlighted Bahrain’s willingness to support international efforts to build more resilient and sustainable communities, as well as its readiness to share expertise in emergency response and disaster management.
