Municipalities Minister reviews afforestation work at REHC

His Excellency Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, made an inspection visit to the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), accompanied by H.E. Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, and Dr. Maher Al Shaer, Managing Director of Buraq Al Retaj Company.
The delegation reviewed ongoing afforestation work at the club’s facilities, in the presence of Yousif Osama Buhejji, Chief Executive Officer of the club, and a number of officials.
The minister affirmed that efforts to expand green cover in Bahrain are guided by a comprehensive national vision aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and developing green infrastructure across government projects and facilities.
He noted that these efforts are supported by community partnerships and policies aligned with the National Afforestation Plan, which targets the planting of 3.6 million trees by 2035.
Al Mubarak highlighted the development achieved by the club under the chairmanship of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister at the Court of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the REHC High Committee, affirming the importance of maintaining an integrated green environment that enhances its standing as a leading sporting and tourism destination.
