Bahrain Launches Back-to-School Support Initiatives for Families
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) has unveiled a series of initiatives to support consumers—both citizens and residents—during the back-to-school season. The efforts aim to create a balanced commercial environment that combines quality products with affordable prices, while enhancing the sustainability of services offered to the community.
As part of these efforts, the Ministry’s Consumer Protection Directorate has launched the seasonal edition of the “Consumer Friend” initiative. The platform allows participating stores to contribute to the community by offering special discounts on a wide range of back-to-school items, including stationery, backpacks, school uniforms, electronics, printers, internet devices, study furniture, kitchen appliances, clothing irons, eyewear, school food products, and vehicles.
The Ministry emphasized that the initiative will continue until November 2025, providing retailers with an opportunity to demonstrate their role in supporting the community. It reflects the trust and collaboration between the Ministry and the business sector while encouraging offers tailored to the needs of Bahraini and resident families.
In addition, the Ministry’s Inspection Department is carrying out a comprehensive monitoring plan across all governorates in Bahrain. The plan focuses on ensuring product quality and compliance with standards, monitoring prices to maintain fair competition, and verifying the availability and variety of products to meet the diverse needs of the school season.
The Ministry highlighted that the back-to-school period is an important community milestone and an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors in serving consumers. It expressed pride in the awareness of Bahraini families and the commitment of the business sector, affirming that joint cooperation will ensure a smooth and promising start to the school year for students.
