The General Directorate of Traffic has called on parents not to hire any drivers who do not hold a valid license from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications that authorizes them to operate student transport.
Authorities warned that using unlicensed buses can leave passengers unprotected, as insurance coverage does not apply to individuals inside such vehicles. Parents are also reminded of the importance of ensuring that school bus drivers strictly follow traffic rules to protect the safety of children and students.
Additionally, drivers are required to properly check the vehicle’s braking and safety systems to prevent accidents or breakdowns while on the road.
The Traffic Department emphasizes that following these guidelines is essential to keeping school children safe during their daily commute.
