Bahrain’s Shura Council and the Federation Council of Russia have signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation between their parliaments.

The signing took place in Moscow during an official visit by the Chairman of Bahrain’s Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh. He was joined by Valentina Matvienko, the Chairwoman of Russia’s Federation Council.

This agreement aims to enhance the strong ties between Bahrain and Russia by encouraging more collaboration between their legislative bodies. It includes plans to create friendship committees, hold joint conferences, and work together in international parliamentary organizations.

The agreement also promotes the exchange of visits, knowledge, and experiences between the two councils. It supports research, the use of digital systems in parliament, and sharing information on how each country manages its parliamentary work.

Al-Saleh said the agreement sets a clear and ambitious path for better cooperation and understanding between the two countries, especially in legislative matters. He emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to making this agreement a success.

The signing was attended by other members of the Shura Council, including Dr. Jihad Al-Fadhel, Khalid Al-Maskati, Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan, and Secretary General Karima Al-Abbasi. Bahrain’s Ambassador to Russia, Ahmed Al-Saati, and members of the Russian parliament were also present.

This agreement reflects the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in building strong international partnerships for Bahrain.
