Meeting rising demand for energy without wrecking the planet is one of the hardest tasks ahead, MP Dr Maryam Al Dhaen said, as she called for a steady shift towards cleaner sources without turning away from oil and gas overnight.
She said Bahrain needs to think well ahead, with policies that make use of new tools such as artificial intelligence and small nuclear reactors.
These, she argued, could ease the burden on conventional fuels and help keep more resources in the ground for those who come after us.
Growth, energy, and climate, she added, are now bound together.
