Bahrain demand for Chinese cars grows

Chinese car sales in Bahrain reached 5,358 units in 2024, showing an increase as more buyers opt for these vehicles.
Across the Gulf, total sales stood at 191,500 units, with Saudi Arabia leading the market at 107,339 vehicles sold, making up 56 per cent of regional sales. The UAE followed with 40,735 units (21.3 per cent), while Kuwait recorded 19,024, Qatar 11,100, and Oman 7,994.
A report from Chinesecars.me forecasts continued growth for Chinese-made vehicles in Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia through 2025, particularly electric and hybrid models. Lower prices and better after-sales support are expected to drive further uptake.
China’s total car exports reached 6.407 million units in 2024, a 22.7 per cent rise on the previous year.
The total value of exported vehicles hit $117.35 billion, with 5,300 units sent to Bahrain. Demand for electric vehicles (EVs) increased, with 1.284 million units exported, up 6.7 per cent from 2023.
