Bahrainis always embodied principles of friendship: HM
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace yesterday the participants and contributors of “This is Bahrain” function, organised by the Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA) in many European countries and the US.
Representatives from government and religious institutions as well as non-government organisations (NGOs) took part in the function held to highlight Bahrain’s civilisational and humanitarian achievements.
Addressing the audience, HM the King said Bahrain and its people have embodied the principles of friendship, tolerance, mutual respect and openness to the world, with a pride in our diversity and plurality, and a belief that everyone has the right to a secure and decent life.
“Living in Bahrain, you experience these key Bahrain values every day. You see for yourselves the warmth in the welcome, hospitality and friendship extended by Bahrainis from all walks of life.
“You experience the freedom to practise your faiths, develop your communities, and celebrate your heritage. Most of all, you share in- and contribute to- our desire and determination to build a just, prosperous and tolerant society for future generations.
“You can be assured that all of us in the Kingdom of Bahrain greatly appreciate the BFEA, and its work to show the world the true face of our country, wishing you every success at the upcoming celebrations of the Federation and its associations,” His Majesty said.
HM the King praised the values which turned Bahrain into an oasis of peace, freedom and co-existence at a time when the world is in dire need for those values.
Those values still represent a source of inspiration and as they are the core of the National Action Charter and the Constitution, they will continue constituting a framework for future national achievements, HM the King said, thanking BFEA Secretary General Betsy Mathieson and members for their efforts in this regard.
