CSB issues instructions on employees’ uniforms

Manama : The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) has issued Instructions No. (4) for the year 2017 on provision of uniforms for employees. 

The purpose of these instructions is to determine conditions and regulations of providing uniforms for employees, its types and quantities and laundry service procedures, said Director General of Policy and Wages Salahuddin A. Rahman Ajlan.

He said the instructions clarify the importance of providing the uniform to the staff to help them perform their duties in risk-free work environment in accordance with the occupational safety and health regulations, noting that these service has been formally organised and issued earlier in 2001. As for the categories that are entitled for the provision of uniform, the Director of Wages & Benefits Directorate, confirmed that it includes employees occupying positions like messengers, cleaners, office helpers and drivers, and occupants of other positions that required a uniform for performing their duties.

Uniforms are provided to contribute to employee’s adequate appearance at workplaces, in addition to measures required by safety and health regulations, as well as keeping distinguished marks of the positions.
