The Dubai Ruler announced this in a document called '4th of January Document' that he released Today.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced a new council that will lead the change and developments in Dubai. The 'Dubai Council' will take the lead in six key sectors: Economy, citizens' services, governmental development, infrastructure, justice and security, and health and knowledge.

The Dubai Ruler announced this in a document called '4th of January Document' that he released on Saturday, January 4. Sheikh Mohammed will chair the council, while Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, will be his deputies.

January 4 marks the day when Sheikh Mohammed became the Ruler of Dubai. This year is the 14th anniversary of his Accession Day.
