Turkey says new Saudi-Pakistan defence deal will not affect NATO ties

Ankara: As Turkey strengthens security cooperation with the two nations amid increased tensions in the region, Turkey claimed that its recently signed defence agreement with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is consistent with its obligations as a NATO member.
The three nations' military cooperation, coordination, and security cooperation are anticipated to increase as a result of the pact, which was inked as part of efforts to improve defence ties.
In an effort to reassure its Western allies as Ankara seeks deeper strategic alliances outside of NATO, the Turkish administration emphasised that the agreement did not compromise its commitments to NATO.
The agreement is made at a time when South Asia and the Middle East are experiencing increased volatility, and regional nations are looking to improve security cooperation and forge stronger defensive alliances.
