Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has strongly condemned Iran's continued attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as attacks on commercial vessels.
Al Budaiwi said Iran's actions represent a serious escalation that threatens regional security and stability, describing them as a grave violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. He added that the attacks also undermine maritime security and freedom of navigation.
The GCC Secretary General said the repeated attacks obstruct regional and international efforts to promote peace and stability, reflecting what he described as a continued disregard for international law and the collective will of the international community.
He reaffirmed the GCC's full support for all measures taken by Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan to strengthen their security, protect their sovereignty, and safeguard their citizens and residents.
