HONG KONG: Cathay Pacific will resume flights to the Middle East, citing promising signs in diplomatic efforts to end the current war. The Hong Kong flagship carrier suspended routes to Dubai and Riyadh in February following the outbreak of hostilities.
Daily passenger flights to Dubai and four-times-weekly flights to Riyadh will restart on September 1, while freighter services to Riyadh resume on August 1. The airline, which previously hiked fuel surcharges due to rising oil prices, remains cautious. Cathay stated it will continue to monitor the region closely before these resumption dates.
