Hegseth Visits Guantanamo Bay as US Steps Up Pressure on Cuba
Guantanamo Bay: U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay on Wednesday, marking the latest high-profile trip to Cuba by a senior American official as President Donald Trump increases pressure on the Communist-run island.
Hegseth's visit comes less than two weeks after General Francis Donovan, the top U.S. military commander for Latin America, travelled to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay and held talks with a senior Cuban general near the base's perimeter.
