The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, strongly condemned what he described as continued Iranian hostile attacks targeting Kuwait, calling them a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law.

In a statement issued by the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh, Albudaiwi said the incidents represented “a serious and irresponsible escalation” and a “blatant breach” of Kuwait’s sovereignty, as well as of international laws and norms. He warned that such actions pose a direct threat to regional security and stability.

The GCC chief said the continuation of these attacks reflects a rejected pattern of behaviour that undermines ongoing regional and international efforts to maintain peace and security.

He urged the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities and take a firm and deterrent stance against what he described as serious violations that threaten both regional and global peace.

Albudaiwi also stressed that Kuwait’s security is an integral part of the security of all GCC member states. He added that the Gulf states stand united in full solidarity with Kuwait and support all measures it takes to safeguard its security and sovereignty.
