Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has ordered an immediate nationwide recall of two insecticide products after regulatory testing exposed severe health and safety violations, including the presence of a forbidden toxic chemical.
The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) issued the mandatory withdrawal for ‘Goodbye All Insects Max Kills in One Spray’ and ‘Goodbye All Insects Spray,’ both manufactured by SCITRA.
According to federal officials, the emergency action was triggered after investigations revealed that the products were being marketed without proper EDE registration.
Furthermore, chemical analysis of one product confirmed that it contained an internationally prohibited substance, while the other failed to meet standard specifications due to highly volatile and unapproved concentrations of its active ingredients.
In response, federal health teams are actively scrubbing store shelves and digital marketplaces to seize the hazardous inventory. The EDE has urged all UAE residents to immediately discard any matching bottles and warned retailers that distributing, selling, or storing these specific items will result in severe legal penalties.
