Ontario: Former chef Kenneth Law pleaded guilty in an Ontario courtroom on Friday to counseling or aiding 14 suicides across the province. Under a structured plea agreement, Crown prosecutors announced they will officially withdraw all 14 counts of first-degree murder initially laid against the 60-year-old resident.
Law admitted to operating several online shops that actively marketed and distributed lethal chemical substances alongside specific instruction kits to vulnerable individuals between 2021 and 2023.
An exhaustive international investigation revealed that Law shipped 1,209 toxic packages to buyers in 41 countries. To systematically avoid police detection, he routinely listed other items like hot sauce on his digital storefronts to maintain the illusion of running a legitimate food-preparation business.
Although British police linked Law's operations to 112 deaths in the United Kingdom, authorities confirmed he will not face extradition to face a separate trial in England. Law remains in Canadian custody awaiting formal sentencing in September.
