Man dead after Rottnest Island shark attack in Austrailia

PERTH: A 38-year-old man has died following a shark attack off Rottnest Island, near Perth, Western Australia, on Saturday morning. The victim was in the water at Horseshoe Reef when he was bitten by a suspected five-metre great white shark just before 10:00 AM.
Following the attack, the critically injured man was quickly pulled from the water and conveyed by a private vessel to the Geordie Bay jetty on the island's northern side.
He was met at the shore by St John WA paramedics who immediately performed CPR. Despite their extensive emergency efforts, the man was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have urged public caution and deployed aerial and marine patrols to monitor the area.
