Washington accuses UN of enabling 'mass migration’ into US and Europe

Washington: The United States government has formally accused the United Nations of facilitating large-scale migration into the U.S. and Europe, alleging that international aid programs are inadvertently encouraging unauthorized border crossings.

In a sharp diplomatic escalation, Washington officials claim that the UN’s current distribution of resources along migration routes acts as a ‘pull factor’ for millions seeking to enter Western nations.

The critique focuses on humanitarian assistance provided in transit zones, which the U.S. argues simplifies the journey for those traveling illegally.

Furthermore, the U.S. suggests that the UN’s focus on migrant rights often overlooks the sovereignty and border security concerns of host nations. While the UN maintains its actions are strictly humanitarian and necessary to prevent loss of life, Washington is calling for a fundamental restructuring of international migration management.

This development marks a significant shift in the relationship between the U.S. and the global body, signaling a move toward more restrictive immigration policies on the world stage.
