California: Pop superstar Dua Lipa has filed a massive $15 million lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the tech giant of using her likeness to sell televisions without permission. The legal complaint, filed Friday in a California federal court, alleges that Samsung featured a photograph of the singer on the cardboard packaging of its televisions worldwide.

The image in question shows the ‘Levitating’ singer backstage at the 2024 Austin City Limits Festival a photo she claims to own the copyright to. According to the filing, the unauthorized use created a ‘false impression’ of a celebrity endorsement, leading fans to believe she was an official partner of the brand.

Lipa’s legal team states she first became aware of the "Dua Lipa TV Box" in June 2025 and issued multiple cease-and-desist demands. However, they characterize Samsung’s response as "dismissive and callous," alleging the company continued using the image despite her objections. The lawsuit seeks at least $15 million in damages, citing copyright infringement and violations of her right of publicity.
