NEW YORK: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized in ‘critical but stable condition,’ according to his spokesman, Ted Goodman. While receiving medical care at a facility in Florida, the specific ailment affecting the 81-year-old former politician has not been disclosed.

Goodman characterized Giuliani as a ‘fighter’ who is approaching this health crisis with unwavering strength, and he called upon the public to pray for the man often referred to as ‘America’s Mayor’.

Giuliani’s hospitalization comes at a time when his public legacy is under intense scrutiny. Though he earned widespread acclaim for his leadership during the 9/11 attacks and his earlier career as a high-profile prosecutor, his recent years have been marked by severe professional and legal setbacks.

He was disbarred in both New York and Washington following his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, and in 2023, he was ordered to pay $148 million in a defamation lawsuit involving election workers.

Despite these controversies, Giuliani has maintained a close alliance with Donald Trump, who recently issued him a sweeping pardon in November 2025 regarding criminal charges in Arizona.

Upon hearing the news of his condition, Trump praised Giuliani as a ‘true warrior’ and defended his mayoral record. As Giuliani remains in critical condition, his current health battle adds a tragic layer to a career defined by both historic service and significant legal turmoil.
