HH Amir of Qatar Meets European Council President to Discuss Regional Developments
His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the Qatar, received António Costa and his accompanying delegation in Doha.
The meeting reviewed the latest regional and international developments, with a focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon amid ongoing escalation and its humanitarian and security implications.
Both sides discussed the impact of these developments on regional stability, including the security of maritime navigation and the stability of global energy markets. They stressed the importance of ensuring the uninterrupted flow of energy supplies and maintaining security across key maritime routes.
The discussions also covered ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Qatar and the European Union, highlighting Qatar’s role as a reliable partner in supporting global energy security, particularly through the supply of liquefied natural gas.
In addition, both sides explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as energy, trade, and investment, in line with shared interests.
