Saudi Arabia summons Iraqi ambassador over drone attacks

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of Iraq to the Kingdom, Safia Al-Suhail, in response to continued attacks and threats targeting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states through drones launched from Iraqi territory.

During the meeting, a formal protest memorandum was handed to the Iraqi ambassador by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Political Affairs, Saud Al-Sati.

Al-Sati strongly condemned the attacks originating from Iraqi territory against Saudi Arabia and its Gulf partners, stressing the need for Iraq to take responsibility for addressing such threats and preventing further escalations.

He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s firm rejection of any violations of sovereignty or attempts to undermine regional security and stability, warning that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to protect its security and territorial integrity.
