Netanyahu May Agree: White House Summit and Tuesday Talks Anchor Peace Push

Washington DC: The Trump administration has launched a diplomatic push for a ‘tactical pause’ between Israel and Hezbollah. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may agree to the request, signaling a potential breakthrough in stabilizing the regional ceasefire.
This cooling-off period is designed to facilitate historic, direct talks between Israeli and Lebanese officials at the White House this coming Tuesday. By pausing strikes, Washington hopes to decouple the northern front from Gaza and protect a recent truce with Iran.
A key part of this plan involves high-level negotiations currently held in Islamabad. U.S. officials are using these backchannel talks to keep Tehran committed to de-escalation. The pause is seen as a strategic necessity to secure vital oil routes in the Strait of Hormuz. While Netanyahu must still balance this ‘gesture’ against domestic security concerns, his participation in the Tuesday summit could pivot the region toward a new equilibrium and prevent a full-scale war.
