PARIS: Air France-KLM has announced a further extension of its flight suspensions to several Middle East destinations until at least May 3, 2026. The decision, cited as a precautionary measure due to the ‘ongoing security situation’ in the region, affects routes to Beirut, Tel Aviv, and Amman.

The airline initially paused its operations following the outbreak of regional hostilities in late February. While a 14-day ceasefire was recently brokered between the U.S. and Iran, Air France stated that it remains in a state of "heightened monitoring" regarding the reopening of regional airspace and the safety of commercial corridors.

Passengers with bookings during this period have been notified that they are eligible for full refunds or the option to rebook their flights for a later date at no additional cost. The airline’s sister company, KLM, has also aligned its schedule with this extension, maintaining a suspension of its daily services from Amsterdam to the affected hubs.

A spokesperson for the airline group emphasized that the safety of its customers and crews remains the absolute priority. The move follows similar announcements from other major European carriers, as the aviation industry waits for a more definitive stabilization of the geopolitical climate before resuming regular flight paths through the Levant.
