Explosion Hits Pro-Israel Centre in Netherlands; No Injuries Reported
An explosion struck a pro-Israel centre in the Nijkerk, causing minor damage but no injuries, according to Dutch police.
The blast occurred late Friday outside a facility operated by Christians for Israel. Authorities confirmed that no one was present inside the premises at the time of the incident.
Police investigations revealed that an unidentified individual, dressed in black, placed the explosive device near the entrance gate. Officials have launched a probe and appealed to the public for any information that could help identify the suspect.
The organisation expressed shock over the attack, describing it as part of a “worrying pattern” of incidents targeting Jewish and pro-Israel locations in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries.
While the physical damage was limited, the group noted the symbolic impact of the attack, highlighting that it occurred on the eve of Easter, the most significant celebration in the Christian calendar.
According to the SITE Intelligence Group, a little-known Islamist group with alleged links to Iran claimed responsibility for similar attacks across Europe, including in Belgium and the United Kingdom. The group reportedly shared an online video referencing the latest explosion.
Authorities continue their investigation as concerns grow over a series of coordinated incidents targeting religious and political organisations across the region.
