Iran Strikes Necessary to Prevent Future Threats: Netanyahu
The Israeli PM insists that military action is ‘Gateway to Peace’

Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that ongoing US and Israeli military strikes on Iran will not result in an “endless war,” describing the campaign as a decisive move aimed at reshaping the Middle East.
In a TV interview, Netanyahu said the Iranian regime was at its “weakest point” in decades and argued that current military action would be swift and transformative.
“You’re not going to have an endless war,” Netanyahu said. “This is going to be a quick and decisive action.”
He claimed that weakening Iran’s leadership would create conditions for the Iranian people to determine their own future and potentially establish a democratically elected government.
Netanyahu also suggested that the fall of the Iranian regime could open the door to new regional peace agreements, pointing to the success of the Abraham Accords, which were brokered during the presidency of Donald Trump and normalised relations between Israel and several Arab states.
“Working together against Iran, we will be able to bring many, many more peace treaties,” Netanyahu said, adding that Saudi Arabia would have “a lot to gain” from such developments and that closer ties between Riyadh and Israel could be within reach.
The prime minister rejected claims by critics that Trump had been drawn into conflict by Israel, calling such assertions “ridiculous” and describing the US president as a decisive leader acting in America’s interests.
Netanyahu also defended the joint military campaign, referred to as “Operation Epic Fury,” arguing that action was necessary to prevent Iran from advancing its ballistic missile and nuclear capabilities.
He alleged that after previous strikes on Iranian facilities, Tehran sought to rebuild and fortify its programmes, including constructing underground sites designed to shield missile and nuclear development from future attacks.
“If no action was taken now, no action could be taken in the future,” Netanyahu said, claiming that Iran could otherwise threaten or blackmail the United States and its allies.
The Israeli leader maintained that the current offensive is intended to prevent long-term instability and ultimately pave the way for broader peace in the region.
