Pentagon to Brief on US-Israel Strikes in Iran
The Pentagon will hold a press conference on Monday morning to discuss the joint US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, the first briefing from a senior official since the strikes began on Saturday.
The press conference is scheduled for 8:00 am local time (1300 GMT), Pentagon officials said Sunday on X.
Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth will be joined by Dan Caine, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.
Hegseth is also set to visit Congress on Tuesday alongside Secretary of State Marco Rubio to update lawmakers on the operation’s progress. Democrats have criticized the White House for not consulting them before the attacks.
The US and Israeli militaries launched strikes on Iran on Saturday. Iranian state media confirmed on Sunday that the attacks on Tehran killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
