Dracula Land: Romania’s €1 Billion Megaproject
Romania is set to launch Dracula Land, a €1 billion flagship entertainment hub near Bucharest scheduled to open in 2027. This 192-acre destination, founded by Dragoș Dobrescu, aims to be a national landmark by blending immersive storytelling with cutting-edge technology. The park will feature five distinct thematic zones, ranging from a traditional Transylvanian village to Victorian London and New Orleans, housing over 40 attractions, including werewolf-themed roller coasters, mazes, and supernatural-themed family areas.
Beyond traditional tourism, the project serves as a massive multi-use complex. It includes a 22,500-seat arena for concerts and esports, a professional racing circuit, 1,200 hotel rooms, and a dedicated tech hub for 1,000 digital creative professionals. A standout feature is the creation of a "digital twin" in Unreal Engine 5, allowing global audiences to experience the park and its live events virtually. Construction is slated to begin in September 2026, marking a significant shift toward high-concept, technology-driven tourism in Romania.
