In alignment with the CBSE circular on the observance of Jal Pakhwada (16th–30th April 2026) and the nationwide mission to promote water conservation and sustainability, Bhavans Bahrain Indian School (BIS) conducted an extensive series of awareness and engagement programmes aimed at nurturing environmental responsibility among students, staff, and the wider community.

The fortnight-long observance commenced with a solemn and inspiring Jal Shapath (Water Pledge)  ceremony in which students, teachers, and staff collectively pledged to conserve water and promote responsible water usage in their homes, school, and society. The programme emphasized the importance of protecting water resources and encouraged students to become ambassadors of sustainable living.

The two week-long observances featured a diverse range of student-centered engagements, including poster-making, slogan writing, storytelling, Save Water campaigns, seminars, quizzes, debates, model making and presentations. These activities provided students with creative and intellectual platforms to reflect on their daily water usage and to propose meaningful solutions for conservation.

The programme culminated in a recognition ceremony appreciating the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and staff in the various competitions and awareness drives conducted during the Jal Pakhwada fortnight.

Directors Mr Himanshu Verma and Mrs Ritu Verma emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Educating young minds about water conservation is not just an academic exercise, it is a moral responsibility. At BIS, we equip students to become changemakers for a sustainable future.
