MINI Unveils 1965 Victory Edition Honouring Monte Carlo Rally Triumph
A new chapter in motorsport-inspired design has been introduced with the launch of the MINI 1965 Victory Edition, a special model celebrating the brand’s historic win at the Monte Carlo Rally 1965.
The edition pays tribute to the iconic Mini Cooper S that secured victory in 1965, driven by Timo Mäkinen alongside co-driver Paul Easter. The triumph remains one of the most significant moments in MINI’s racing legacy, particularly in Monte Carlo, a destination deeply associated with motorsport history.
Built on the MINI John Cooper Works platform, the new edition combines heritage design with modern performance. The model delivers 231 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
Design Inspired by Racing Heritage
The exterior of the 1965 Victory Edition reflects a blend of vintage and contemporary styling. Finished in a bold Chili Red, the car features a distinctive white stripe running from the bonnet to the rear, alongside a “52” graphic on both sides — a direct nod to the number carried by the original rally-winning car.
Additional details include a “1965” badge on the C-pillar and the option of a panoramic or contrasting roof design. The model is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels in exclusive designs, enhancing both its visual appeal and on-road performance.
Interior Highlights Motorsport Legacy
Inside, the vehicle continues its tribute with subtle yet distinctive details. The door sills feature “1965” branding, while the cabin adopts the signature John Cooper Works colour scheme of anthracite and red.
Edition-specific elements include “1965” lettering on the sports steering wheel and centre console, as well as a dedicated inscription referencing the historic rally win. Even the key cap carries the racing number, reinforcing the connection to MINI’s motorsport heritage.
The MINI 1965 Victory Edition blends performance, design, and history, offering a modern interpretation of one of the brand’s most celebrated achievements on the global rally stage.
