Dubai Airports Brings New Advisors to Boost Accessibility at DXB

Dubai Airports has appointed three new advisors to strengthen its efforts in making Dubai International Airport (DXB) one of the most inclusive airports in the world.

Paralympian Jessica Smith, disability rights advocate Fatma Al Jassim, and the Dubai-based foundation Team AngelWolf will provide guidance on accessibility. Their role is to share lived experiences, identify challenges, and suggest practical solutions to improve travel for People of Determination.

“True inclusion begins with listening,” said Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports. “By focusing on the experiences of our guests, we can create an airport that truly reflects inclusivity.”

The advisors bring strong backgrounds in advocacy and inclusion. Smith is an award-winning consultant and former Paralympian, Al Jassim is a leading Emirati voice in disability rights, and Team AngelWolf is known for its record-breaking achievements promoting inclusive teamwork.

DXB has already made progress in this area, becoming the first international airport certified as an Autism Center™ by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). Over 53,000 employees have been trained to support travelers with hidden disabilities.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s wider plan to become a disability-friendly city, which earlier this year was named the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere.
