HH Shaikh Khalid opens Asian juniors, cadets fencing championship

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) president and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) chief His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa opened yesterday the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship 2024, currently being hosted by the Kingdom.
Also in attendance were GSA vice-president His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs undersecretary and BOC vice-president His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, and other high-ranking officials.
The inauguration took place at Isa Sports City in Riffa, where the action is being held across two arenas.
Others on hand included Fencing Confederation of Asia president Eng Sheikh Salem Sultan Al Qasimi and Bahrain Fencing Association president Shaikh Ebrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Also yesterday, HH Shaikh Khalid awarded the first day’s winners in podium ceremonies.
