Bahrain face Angola in Dubai tune-up

Bahrain’s senior men’s national football team take on their counterparts from Angola this evening in an informal training match in the UAE.

The game is scheduled for a 5pm kick-off, Bahrain time, and it will be played at Dubai Police Club Stadium.

The tune-up will mark the end of the Bahrainis’ training camp in the Emirates, where they have been preparing for the highly anticipated AFC Asian Cup, which kicks off in Doha on Friday and continues until 10 February.

Angola, meanwhile, are gearing up for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Ivory Coast from Saturday to 11 February.

Both competitions feature 24 teams from across their respective continents. The Bahrainis are scheduled to fly to the Qatari capital tomorrow ahead of the start of the AFC Asian Cup.

The nationals held their final training session last night in Dubai under the supervision of head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi.

Bahrain are in Group E for the competition’s preliminary round along with South Korea, Malaysia and Jordan.

The nationals kick off their campaign against the South Koreans on 15 January at 2.30pm, and then take on their Malaysian counterparts on 20 January at 5.30pm. T
