Bahraini Air Force triumph in Ramadan Football Championship for Officers

The Royal Bahraini Air Force won the fifth edition of the Ramadan Football Championship for Officers on Monday.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa honoured the winners after they defeated the BDF Royal Shields team 5-3 on Monday.

The championship is organised by the Royal Artillery and held under His Highness’s patronage.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman awarded the Royal Bahraini Air Force team, at first place, and The BDF Royal Shields team, at second place.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman further honoured the winners of the championship’s Best Player, Top Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.

Some Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) units, directorates, the Bahrain Football Association, the former Bahrain National Football team players and Bahraini celebrities were also honoured for their contributions to the success of the championship, while the commander of the Royal Artillery presented HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman with a commemorative souvenir of the event.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman expressed his delight on the success of the championship, and noted the fierce competition witnessed between the participating teams.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman commended the BDF for supporting such sporting activities, and the efforts of the Royal Artillery in organising the 5th edition of the Ramadan Football Championship for Officers, an important sports activity for youth within the Bahrain Defence Force.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman congratulated the winning teams and players in the tournament, and wished all teams success in the coming years.

The Bahraini Royal Air Force Commander, Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Royal Artillery Commander, Major General Shaikh Khalifa bin Hassan Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Football Association, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and a number of senior Bahrain Defence Force officers also attended.

During the half-time interval, an exhibition match was held between former Bahrain National Football Team Players and Bahraini celebrities.
